Just to let you know that Rochester Rundell Library (New York) has death, birth and marriages microfilms. I think it goes to 1956. You give your license to look at each year. No charge.

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com.

The Rundell library has microfiches of birth, death, and marriages that provide the name, date, location and certificate number. Once you have that information, you have enough information to request a copy of the actual certificate from the local jurisdiction or Albany. There is an index to narrow the searches to the proper fiche by year and then by name. To access the fiches, you have to provide your license and sign in and out each fiche. The librarian will then provide you the fiche. The information goes up to 1956....soon 1957 if they have them, due to NYS law which stipulates public release of vital statistics. The last time I was there, they were located in the periodical/newspaper area in the older library building. Parking is available across the street adjacent to the newer library complex. My experience with the librarians both in the periodical section and the history section has always been pleasant. They are very helpful. T
