Hello, I'm trying to find the origins of the families of David Calderwood (1787-1846) and of Hugh Calderwood (1788-1870), both of whom were born in Ayrshire, Scotland, and both are buried in the West Galway Cemetery. I'm hoping to find out what, if any, relation they may have been to John Calderwood (1797-1886) who also came from Ayrshire, settled near West Galway, and later moved on to Iowa. We're not sure where John was born in Ayrshire, though the parishes of Stewarton and Fenwick are the most likely. He married Jean Bicket at Fenwick in May 1832, and they came to NY shortly thereafter. Any information on David and/or Hugh's parents, place of birth in Scotland, etc., would be VERY welcome.
