    2. nredell
    3. Hello, I am new to this list and I am looking for William H. BRADLEY who was born in NY, probably Allegany County and his wife Emma Fancher BRADLEY. He was born in 1831 and she was born in 1856. They appear in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census as residents of Gloversville, NY. In the 1900 census Emma's parents Samuel D. and Juliet Fancher are also in the home. In 1920 William is of an advanced age and probably died in Gloversville. I have not been successful in finding any of them in a cemetery transcribed online although I realize that some of the cemeteries are not fully transcribed. I don't believe that William and Emma were parents of children so there may not be too many searching for this family. I did notice that there were plenty of Fanchers in the area when I did a site search for the usgenweb page. Can anyone help me or better yet give me some suggestions as to where I might find more cemetery info. Thank you in advance, Nana (NAY-na) RUTHERFORD Redell

    3. Hi Bruce, Very kind words and very nice to hear from you. I suspect we are of a similar feather. The only STEWARTs that I have any information on are some very early ones that resided up near Cambridge and White Creek in Washington County, and I only have some gravestone information on them, no in depth details. My grandfather, Jacob HILLENBRAND, was the only son of an only son, and he immigrated in 1886. So I would have to go back many years in Europe to ever locate any HILLENBRAND or variant spellings of that name to which I would be related. I have taken the line back into the 1600's and they stayed pretty well in or very near the little village of Markelsheim. Thanks for thinking of it though. Please feel free to wander around through my website and Blogs. Hopefully you might come across something helpful, that's what it is for. I'll be off for a week in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the FGS conference next week. Let me know if there is anything that I might be able to help with. Best regards. 3. Hello Dick, I found you information useful and interesting. I am writing you, not only to thank you, but to give a little info. My family of Stewarts came to Johnstown in 1786, namely Robert, who bought a 100 acre farm near Sammonsville. I have his probate, dated 1837. His lawyer is a John Hillebrant, who appears to be a personal friend also. I was just wondering if this might be one of your family, even though the spelling is somewhat different? It seems there was a group who were friends: Daniel Cady, (father of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, he was also a Judge), Judge Stoutenberg, Robert's half brothers, Dugal and Donald Stewart and of course, Robert Stewart. John Hillebrant also worked with Robert on real estate purchases. I certainly admire your work with New York genealogy. I have spent quite a bit of time in Johnstown, Little Falls, Madison and Onondaga counties, following my Stewarts to Illinois. Thank you. 3. I know there are lots of Getman descendants who watch this list, and I'm hoping one of you can help me out. I've been looking up the descendants of the children of Johannes Van Antwerp and Rachel Van Alen (I'm descended from their daughter Rachel), and their daughter Maritje married Benjamin Getman about 1815. One of their children was Crawford Getman (1834-1917), who moved to Oswego Co. and entered the glass business. He left quite a bit of money in his will to relatives, primarily nieces and nephews since he never married. A newspaper announcement in late 1917 said that a great-nephew Myron Shults of Richfield Springs and a great-niece Mamie Gallaver of Chicago were left out because Crawford didn't know of their existence. I take Myron Shults to be William Myron, the son of Mary Williamson and Hiram Shults, but who in heaven's name is Mamie Gallaver!? Mamie is mentioned again in a 1918 story with her last name spelled Galloer or something like that - she and Myron had both been added to the list of legatees. In 1940, the last listing I could find, Myron was dead and I see no mention of Mamie. Obviously I don't have a marriage of one of Crawford's descendants. Does anyone know who this Mamie could be? Can't find her in 1910 or 1920. Thanks. Joanne Gaudio
