    2. The death certificates usually tell where the person is buried. Albany Vitals has from about 1884, not complete though because it wasn't enforced for several years. Pat H ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

Author: corlissbs Surnames: VAn Ness Lobdell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.fulton/2524/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I would like to join the DAR under Gerrit Van Ness b. 1750 Hope, Albany Co, New York & d. 13 Aug 1831 in Cambridge, Washington Co., NY. I know the family was in the Fulton Co. area in the early 1790s. My specific question is: Does anyone know of any proof that Gerrit's son Cornelius b. 4 April 1778 Schaghticoke, Rennsslelaer Co., NY married Lucy Lobdell b. 15 Nov 1775 Brookfield, Ct. All the genealogy books attest to the fact, but DAR requires some kind of "proof" other than genealogists. Land record? Tax document? history book article? Both died in 1839 so censuses won't do me any good. Please reply to corlissbss@aol.com . Any help would be gratefully appreciated! 1. [NYFULTON] Cartwright in Mayfield
    2. Donna Willis
    3. There was man by the name of George Cartwright that had lived in Mayfield. He died in 2000. Does anyone have any information on him or any of his family? I am also looking for information on a woman by the name of Alice Cartwright. She also lived in Mayfield. She either owned a bakery or ran the bakery for someone else and lived upstairs over the bakery. This would have been quite some time ago like probably in the 60's, 70's or 80's. Any information either of these people would be greatly appreciated. --------------------------------- Yahoo! oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links.

    3. Thanks, Richard. No one seems to have heard of Mamie Gallaver. I wonder if she was an error! Her name just appeared in that one article about Crawford Getman's estate, and I have no idea who gave the newspaper the info that she had been left out of his will because he didn't know of her existence. 1. Re: [NYFULTON] Myron Shults; Mamie Gallaver
    2. Joanne Gaudio
    3. Hi Clyde, You've helped me out before, and I've really appreciated it! Adam and Rachel Van Antwerp Everson are my g-g-g-grandparents, and I've been researching Rachel's siblings as part of my family history research. I found the reference to Mamie Gallaver (or however it should be spelled) in a 1917 article on Crawford Getman's estate, where he left his money to all his siblings, nieces, and nephews. It mentioned two who were not listed because Crawford hadn't known of their existence. One was later included, but I never could find out anything about Mamie Gallaver, who was supposed to live in Chicago in 1917, and I never saw her name in any of the later articles. If she was really a niece, she belongs to a marriage I know nothing about. Maybe she wasn't really a relation at all - I don't know how the article got her name. Anyway, if you ever come across the name in connection with the Van Antwerps, I'd sure be interested in knowing about it. Joanne Gaudio
