Author: aurina Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.franklin/6793.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: census 1910 franklin county , tupper lake keNzura john age 44 married 5 yrs came here 1884, russia/poland, owner/operater grocery merchant owns his home free of mortgage; leokadia age 30, married 5 yrs, 2 kids, both alive she came here 1905 germany/poland; daughters marion 3, nellie 2. census 1920 tupper lake; kenzura, -okay-this gets a little confusing. on broad street, head of house- joseph jubec.he is 40, came here 1913 from poland, owns his home free, he is a laborer in a lumber mill. leokadia, 39, came here 1905, merchant, retail groceries. the children,last name kenzura.-listed as the step daughter, 1 month old mary; listed as daughters, 11 yr old nellie, and 10 yr old irene. all parents b poland perhaps marion died-the fhl has on film available to rent , the 1915 census of franklin county which may be of help in establishing when. because they are girls, tracing them becomes more difficult. however fhl has films from 1908-1935 with marriages in franklin county. perhaps one of the girls married in that time frame and u could get her new last name. census tupper lake 1930, now still more confusion. owning her home on broad st, a lukaria comsuric who is 48, from poland, who came here 1905 and was first married at 24. i was hoping her job would nail it, since she fits all the other catagories, but she is un-employed. she has with her, two daughters born in ny, marie, 22, and amata 21. if the 1920 census enumerator erred with mary, which he wrote 1/12, she could be marion. wouldnt be the first mistake on a census. and comsuric sounds like kenzura. hope that this helps someone to help you. good luck.
