I found a marriage record for George Edward Clark, son of Melburn Clark and Etta, and it does in fact say that Etta's maiden name was Spencer. I'm still assuming the "aunt" I mentioned is Huldah Spencer, who is the sister of Etta's father, George Spencer. Technically, the census should list Huldah as "Aunt-in-Law," I guess. I had thought that Charlotte's maiden name was Spencer, but I guess not. Unless the Charlotte who married John Clark is also Charlotte Spencer, another sister of George Spencer.
