At this point, Mary M. (mother) says she was born in Canada. In 1870 there is a Parmelia Dewey living in Chenango Forks, Broome, NY with her husband Wallace (28) and three children, Charles (5), Frank (2) and Nettie (10/12 - born in Aug.) Wallace is a farmer and all were born in NY. This may be the husband you are looking for. In the 1880 census Parmelia reports being born in Canada along with both her parents. What is strange is that her mother Maria in the next line says she was born in NY and her parents were born in CN and VT.
