I was a bit surprised that Almon was removed (i.e. fired) from his postmaster position in Tupper Lake. That Dr. Almon Clarke from Vermont was probably not related to Almon Clarke and his family. Also, after reading the obituary for a Harvey Clarke who died November 5, 1948 in a hunting accident at age 56, I can give a fairly good guess that this is the same person as Almon Taylor Harvey Clarke, Almon Jr's eldest child. The age matches (he was born December of 1891), as well as the reference to his time in Rochester. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
