Author: mdflash Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.franklin/2563.1.1.1.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Marjorie - I believe that this John S Griffin that married Miranda Mallory in 1872 in Brush's Mills (later becoming Brushton in 1877) is the oldest brother of my GG grandfather, James Henry Griffin, and I am desperately seeking information on what may have happened to him after marrying in (Moira) Brush's Mills. Do you have any more information on this? My dad told me at one point that John S was living in Texas and they had a son that was killed by a train in Loiusiana around 1889, but I have been UNABLE to find John on any census later than 1870 in (Moira) Brush's Mills. His five siblings scattered around the country after their mom had passed in 1864, dad was discharged form the Union Army in 1865 and ended up in CT with his youngest brother, Malcolm. Brother James ended up in Norwalk, CT and married a girl from Long Island. Brother Dan went west, presumably in search of gold. Sister Delia married and moved to Chateaugay, NY; sister Mary Ann married and went to St Lawrence Co,! NY. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
