Harold and his brother Bernie Cross (my grandfather) spent several years in THE HOME FOR THE FRIENDLESS, Plattsburgh, NY, beginning abt 1900. Family lore has it that Harold committed suicide in upstate NY or VT. He served in the Army, was a sargeant stationed in 1920 in Arizona. After 1920 I have hit a wall. Father: Willie B (AKA Willis) Cross VT>NY>VT Mother: Adelaide (AKA Addie) Russell Cross VT Sibs: Bernie VT>NY; Vivian(Sanders)VT(raised by her aunt, Augusta CROSS Douglas); Shurley(adopted; AKA Hazel Hodges)VT>CA Harold's father Willie/Willis took a second wife: Bessie FOSTER and they lived in 1910 in Brighton, Franklin, NY; in 1920 in Saranac Lake, Franklin, NY. Between 1920 and 1922, Willie and Bessie moved to VT (Mt Holly). Any information regarding Harold's death would be greatly appreciated.
