OK-I don't have a lot of dates, but around 1920 Ralph Gowett Sr. married Lillian Maynard, probably in lake Placid-their children were Ralph jr, Marion, Edith, Leona, Eugene and mrs. Dukette (I don't have her first name) Also in that time frame Clarence Clookey married Rachel Sweet. One of their daughters , June Rose Clookey, married Ralph Gowett, Jr, their son Tim is my husband! I did call Chestnut hill cemetary inSaranac lake-is that the only =E7emetary in town? I am still waiting for them to reply. Thanks again, Rose --WebTV-Mail-20406-1060 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from mailsorter-101-8.iap.bryant.webtv.net (209.240.198.42) by storefull-173.iap.bryant.webtv.net with WTV-SMTP; Thu, 6 Jul 2000 16:30:47 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <[email protected]> Received: from imo-r16.mx.aol.com (imo-r16.mx.aol.com [152.163.225.70]) by mailsorter-101-8.iap.bryant.webtv.net (8.8.8-wtv-f/ms.dwm.v7+dul2) with ESMTP id QAA19904 for <[email protected]>; Thu, 6 Jul 2000 16:30:45 -0700 (PDT) From: [email protected] Received: from [email protected] by imo-r16.mx.aol.com (mail_out_v27.10.) id 2.c6.789ac52 (4445) for <[email protected]>; Thu, 6 Jul 2000 19:30:39 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: <[email protected]> Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2000 19:30:38 EDT Subject: Re: I'm new To: [email protected] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 5.0 for Windows sub 109 In a message dated 7/6/2000 1:33:04 PM Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: << [email protected] >> I'm new to the list, and live in Fl. I am researching the names GOWETT, CLOOKEY, SWEET, MAYNARD-all from lake placid and Saranac Lake. I would appreciate any information you have, thanks Rose, Without first names, you are going to have a problem. To be successful in Genealogical research, you pretty much have to do the digging yourself, looking for clues. Since you know where to begin - Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, you could try checking the cemetery listings for that area. But, as I said, you need first names to properly identify your ancestors. Good luck! It's a long and arduous task, but the results are worth it! :-) Rodney L. McKinney [email protected] NEHGS --WebTV-Mail-20406-1060--
