Yes, the 1855 Franklin county NY census is available thru the FHC but only consists of 13 pages. The local FHC here is closed during renovations and I'm trying alternate sources of Franklin Co information. (I'm researching John GEHAN, b. 1795 Ireland and his son John b. 1837 in Quebec or Malone. They arrived in Franklin Co after 1850, appear in 1860 census, and moved on sometime after 1860) >> Thank you for the above information. I - for one - have been monitoring (lurking, I guess is the correct phrase), and the news (to me) that Franklin County had a 1855 census is wonderful. I am trying to find the surname TRUAX and McDermott (McDermand), who were there in the 1840 and 1850, but not 1860 Census. (In 1860, they were in Michigan). Anyway, the 1855 census would be most welcome by me, and I will order it at the FHC next week. Thanks again. Bob White
