    3. Sorry, but you are WAY too early to find either a death certificate or an obituary for Judith BEEDY. In New York State, birth - marriage - death records were not recorded until the early 1880s. Even then, it was voluntary at first and doctors in rural areas did not bother. As for obituaries -- unless the person was EXTREMELY prominent, it is unlikely that there is anything more than a simple death notice stating that she died & giving the date. (Although it is possible that it would state "died at the home of her son ... ") Have you tried contacting the Town Historian for Duane? You can contact him / her by writing: Town Historian Duane, NY (sorry, I checked the phone book for the zip & it's not listed!) Hope this helps.
