Pat, I'm glad you are finding the cemetery work helpful. Three of us spent from 3:30 to 9:00 Saturday working at Riverside Cemetery in Westville. Then we went back and worked again Sunday from 9:00 to 3:30. At some point, the caretaker had moved all broken, flat stones to a single section, laid them flat like a jigsaw puzzle, and left them. Of course grass grew up through the cracks so it took hours to uncover the entire section. (About 30 feet by 10 feet) Then hours more to transcribe & photograph that section. I'm thrilled to say we DID finish. Will do the typing while on vacation in a couple of weeks. So, you can see that it is a TREMENDOUS amount of work. Errors are inevitable, but I try to be as accurate as possible. It is positive feedback like yours that keeps me going! Any volunteers out there to meet me at the cemeteries and help transcribe?
