Hello All, A quick question. I know the State of New York began keeping marriage records in 1881. If I were to request a marriage license from the year 1883 will I receive the actual license. My GGrandparents were married in Notre Dame Church in Malone in that year but church records don't give that valuable information like the actual license would. A second quick question. If available, would the license actually be held in the Town, or the Village of Malone? I've requested records from Malone before and ended up paying the $11.00 twice because I went to the wrong source. By the way, I'm researching the names Boucher (Bushey), Landreville (Londraville), and Jodoin, in Franklin as well as Clinton and Jefferson Counties. Thanks for the help.
