    1. BOARDWAY, BOADWAY,
    2. First, thanks to everyone for your help with the location of Ellenburg. Looking for these surnames: BOARDWAY, BOADWAY, BODWAY, BOLDWAY, BODOH, and all spelling variations. Some (if not all) of these names come from BEAUDOIN. My info is that there was a Thomas BEAUDOIN b.1817 Three Rivers, Quebec, d.1899, buried Ellenburg, NY. Wife: Amelia/Emilie LeClerc. Children of Thomas: Arille, Amelia, Modest (Maurice), Irmiphine (Josephine), Nelson (Narcisse), and Joseph. Sons Modest b.1854, Nelson b.1857, and Joseph used the name BOADWAY. Have some data on Modest and Nelson, but none on Joseph, and have no data on Thomas' daughters except that Arille married Israel Boileau in 1875. Modest BOADWAY married Julia Conteau and had children Franklin and Royal. Nelson BOADWAY married Christina Tremblay and had children Soloma, Thos. Francis, Christina, Mina, William, Oliver, Addie, Edith and Theressa. My info is that Thomas Beaudoin is son of Joseph, son of Etienne-Simeon b.1753, son of Claude b.1709, son of Guillaume I b.1673, son of Jean b.1639, son of Jean Beaudoin. I think Thomas went to New York from Quebec in about 1853. Mainly interested in data in the 1800's and early 1900's, and would like to have information on Thomas' son JOSEPH BOADWAY. Also, seeking information on anyone with these surnames. Thanks, Sharon Hitt hitt@flash.net nannyhitt@yahoo.com

    1. THOMAS FLETCHER GRAVE/FT. COVINGTON
    2. Carol Jo Thompson
    3. Hi all, Is there someone in Ft. Covington who might try to locate a grave for Thomas Fletcher who is said to be the only casualty in Fort Covington during the War of 1812? (I'm not sure if he was a hot-head, just used poor judgement, or simply young and invincible!) Whatever; I'd like to find some data about him as he is an ancestor. There must be a grave for him, and it seems like someone must have marked that grave, inasmuch as he's found in all the history books! I've not even been able to find out where he was buried! I'd like to know the date of his death and, if possible I'd like a photo of the stone. If there is anything further in Ft. Covington about this man (other than the story of his death), I'd be thrilled to pieces. I'll be happy to pay any copy charges, photo charges, what-have-you. I'm not in a big rush, but if it could be done in the next few months while the weather is nice I'd sure appreciate it. ANY HELP/INFORMATION WILL BE APPRECIATED. Thanks. Carol Jo

    1. King family of Bellmont, NY
    2. Deborah Lynn Guber
    3. I recently purchased an extensive letter collection (300+) dating from the 1840s through the 1910s, written to and from the King family of Bellmont (Franklin Co.), New York. The quality and content of these letters are truly exceptional (including the difficulties faced by "factory girls" working in the textile mills in Lawrence, Massachusetts in the 1850s; the Civil War period; and the westward migration of many family members following the Homestead Act). Before publishing this material, however, I would like to augment these letters with some basic genealogical information and (I hope!) photographs kept by descendants. I am hoping someone subscribing to this LISTSERV might be able to help. While the correspondence in this collection is varied, most centers around Cyrus W. King (1798 - c. 1874), his wife Louisa (1806-1895), and their 10 children: 1. Susan W. (King) Branch (1830-1914) 2. Parsons D. King (1832-1918) 3. Louisa (King) Huntley (? -?) 4. Mary Jane (King) Stanton Cornwell (1836 - ?) 5. Henry G. King (1837 - ?) 6. Elizabeth (King) Keatley (1841 - ?) 7. Wallace D. King (1839 - 1912) 8. Charles C. King (1846 - ?) 9. George W. King (1847 - ?) 10. David W. King (1849 - ?) While several family members remained in Bellmont, most of the King siblings and their children scattered across the country throughout the 1860s and 1870s, eventually settling in New York City, Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, Montana, Nebraska, Indiana and Vermont. Any scrap of information on this branch of the King family, or on the town of Bellmont itself, would be GREATLY appreciated! Dr. Deborah Guber The University of Vermont dguber@together.net P.S. Other surnames names mentioned in the letters include: Stanton, Branch, Huntley, Goodwin, Duncan, Whitely.

    1. TYO in Ft. Covington
    2. Thanks to the Listowner for setting this up for Franklin County! Were I not so far away ( 2500 miles ), I may have set up for my own curiosity. I am the Listowner for the TYO-L@rootsweb.com. I am looking for more information on the family of Daniel Alexander TYO ( January 1864 - April 1902 ) of Ft. Covington and Malone, NY. Thanks to a couple of people, I have a copy of his obituary from the Malone Palladium of 04/17/1902 as well as a photograph of his grave site at the Catholic Cemetery at Ft. Covington. I know that Daniel and his father and mother were French Canadian. He was a naturalized citizen. His father was Joseph J. TYO ( xxxx-xxxx ? ) and his mother was Christie A. McNEIL ( About 1831 to March 1897 ). His siblings were Margret ( Maggie ) b 1870 and Joseph b 1872. Christie A. McNeil is also buried in Ft. Covington. >From the 1871 Census in Canada, TYO was a relatively common name, so it makes it hard to connect. Please let me know if anyone here has some information that can help me fill in the blanks. Regards, Dick Kearns Pleasant Hill, CA
