    1. Palmer family
    2. Mary Fose
    3. I am searching for the John Palmer family. John came to the US from England/Ireland. (There is some discrepency between family story that says John came from Sheffield, England and the NY Census that says he came from Ireland in 1831). Anyway, the family story says John and his wife Eliza Durham owned a house in Owl's Head on the main road to Malone. Supposed the farm was purchased in 1893. As of 1990, a school teacher lived in the house and there were Palmer carriages still in the barn. I have been unable to locate my Palmer on any Franklin County Census records during this time period. At some point John moved to Champlain/Rouses Point and is buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Champlain. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!! Mary

    3. Kathie, We just returned from the Constable/Malone area doing family graveyard searches for Chamberlain, Davenport, and Aubrey ancestors. We had a lot of luck! There is a partial but substantial list of Franklin Co. cemeteries on the Franklin Co. GenWeb site: http://www.rootsweb.com~nyfrankl/ There are also listings of burials in a few cemeteries. If you are in that area, stop at Tallon's Store at Constable Corners. Eugene Tallon is a wonderful gent with a wealth of knowledge about the area. He helped us locate several old family homes; as it turns out, he currently lives in one of them! Good luck! Nancy Cook ncook@stny.lrun.com

    1. Re: FULLER
    2. In a message dated 99-06-28 07:13:33 EDT, you write: << Hi, if you have access to a Family History Center, you might read some census for the time period that your people lived. That would help you make some order in your records. Good luck.>> Thank you, Shirley for your reply. I have done that. There was a John L. Fuller in Malone at the time (1822) but I have his probate record and two Bible records that seem to show that he was NOT the John Fuller that fathered my great-grandfather George William Fuller. There were several other Fuller families in the area as noted by Bible records, probate records, census records, and land records. The Johns, except for John L., all seem to be the wrong age or I can't find enough to prove anything one way or another. Hoping that living Fuller descendants might be able to tell some emigration patterns that would help me zero in. Mary (Mary Alice Benedict Grindol)

    1. FULLER
    2. I would like to correspond with anyone researching FULLERs in Franklin Co. 1822 or earlier. Specifically, I have been searching for the ancestors of George William Fuller born 1822 Malone, NY to John FULLER b. VT and ??? born Canada. I have been working on this problem for over 18 years and have accumulated an unbelievable amount of confusing data which I'll be glad to share with anyone else who is working on the same surname, even though they appear not to be related. 1. EARLEYS and BRANDS
    2. WANDA WORTHINGTON
    3. Hi everyone, I am doing research on my ancestors, the EARLEY family and the BRAND family. The Earleys came from Canada East to Malone, Franklin County, New York before 1840. Some of the children were born in Canada and the younger ones in Malone. I believe Canada East was Quebec. Am I right? I believe the parents were SOPHIA and JAMES EARLEY. The children were: JOHN EARLEY, THOMAS L. EARLEY, WILLIAM EARLEY, ELIZABETH EARLEY, EDWARD EARLEY, GEORGE G. EARLEY, HARRIET EARLEY, PETER H. EARLEY, JAMES EARLEY and CATHERINE EARLEY. Thomas Earley married LORINDA BRAND in Malone on 25 June 1843. They had four children and migrated on to Ohio with their four children and Sophia followed the year after Thomas which would have been 1851. Lorinda was the daughter of DANIEL BRAND and the mother's maiden name was LEWIS. The Brands migrated from Vermont. Does anyone have information on either of these two families. I have no proof that Sophia and James were the parents but everything points to that. Thanks for any information anyone can provide. Also, I will share any information I have on these families. 1. BERO, Grew, Grow
    2. Hello Mary, I am searching BERO and GREW / GROW family connection in Hogansburg, Franklin Co. Our oral family history is that Mary Ann BERO (1822-1903) lived in the small village of Hogansburg, NY when she met and married circa 1845 Norman ABRAMS, who was from Cornwall, Ontario. The story is that her father (name unknown) was the Customs Officer and her uncle Charles Grew was the undertaker. I imagine Hogansburg had a small population in the 1820-1860 time period, but I don't know much about Franklin County at all. I am searching for Mary Ann's parents, brothers and sisters, etc.
