" You're right, we have exchanged information before re: our Colvin ancestry. Thanks for writing again. I didn't think there were any published records either, but guess what? I found in the Library Loan Catalogue for The New England Historic and Genealogical Society, "Danby and Mount Tabor Cemetery Inscriptions" by Margaret R. Jenks, published 1988. I am sending a request to borrow it. If it is available I should have it in a week or two. If there is anything you would like me to look up when I have it, let me know. Irene at skiandfox@aol.com

    1. Mahoney and Keefe families of Franklin County, NY
    2. Jared Mahoney
    3. Hello Everyone, I am new to this list and am hoping someone here can help me. I am researching the Mahoney and Keefe families of Franklin County, NY, from which I descend. Right now I have very limited information on these families and I hope there are other researchers out there that I can compare notes with. Thomas Henry Mahoney was born on or around July 28, 1839 in or around Rockburn, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He is thought have have been one of 12 or 13 children, his father's name is unclear, it could have been Jerry, Gerald, John or Jeremiah; his mother's maiden name was Mary Higgins, they were both born in Ireland. Thomas married Catherine Keefe, who was born on or around September 06, 1850 in or around Churubusco, Franklin (present-day Clinton) County, New York. She had at least one brother John, who came west with Catherine and Thomas. Thomas and Catherine were married in Elma, Howard County, Iowa, and had four children there. Then they moved west to Saguache County, Colorado and had three more children. Catherine died in 1888, Thomas in 1915. Nothing is known about Catherine's parents. Information on the Mahoney and Keefe families that had origins in Franklin County, NY is sought and greatly appreciated. The Mahoney family seems to be most prevalent and well-known in the Chateaugay, Malone, and Moira areas. I know from looking at the Franklin County GenWeb page there are many Mahoneys buried in St. Marys and other cemetaries in these areas. However, I am unable to connect any of them with the limited information I have. I hope someone here might be able to, or redirect me to someone that might have access to research that might help. Also, I have heard that the present-day McDonald family of Chateaugay are somehow related to the Mahoney family. Any speculation on this is welcome and appreciated. Thank you so much for any help. Jared Mahoney
