Go to Joyce Ranieri's page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~frgen/index.htm. She has done many cemeteries in Franklin County and is adding new ones fequently.
Wayne, thank you very much. I will contact Joyce. I am seeking one possible Mohawk married to a French Canadian, so its anyones guess on that but I appreciate the information. Hello, again, Joanne... In cruising through electronic northern New York, I came across a couple of interesting items. Most pertinent, perhaps...or perhaps just a coincidence...is this entry, at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~stlawgen/CEMETERY/Waddington.HTM Original Catholic Cemetery - Waddington, St. Lawrence County (next door to Franklin) NY NOTE: This inventory was provided to me by Fred Jahne of Madrid NY. St. Mary's Parish has completed computerizing the information for the original Catholic cemetery in Waddington which has internments dating from 1829 to 1916. Many of the original settlers from Ireland are buried here. The data was compiled from two surveys, one in November, 1953 and one in May,1970, which recorded the tombstone information. The cemetery is located at 1229 Co. Rt. 44 and is about five miles from Waddington. It is marked with a roadside sign and is accessable by car (driving around a barn) or by walking. Comments may be sent to Fred Jahne. Duffy Patrick, d October 1, 1880 age 87 Julia B., wife of Patrick, d June 15, 1843 age 38 Perhaps you will see a connection. You may recall that my cousin (Walter H. Duffy, Jr.) and I are researching the Duffy-Sandifords from the area. I believe I sent you the interesting stuff on Anne McCauley Sandiford and Agnes McCauley, buried with Owen Sandiford in the Mt. Auburn Cem, Cambride, MA? (Sandiford sisters Mary and Christiana married Duffy and Sweeney. My relationship is with Sweeney/Sandiford). For Trout River records, you might want to try the Records Clerk, Franklin County Courthouse, 63 West Main St, Malone, NY 12953, and she could probably refer you to the proper place.

Trying to connect to Carroll family. My gg-grandmother was Ellen Carroll, born town of Blackstep, parrish of Knockbride, Co.Cavan, Ireland abt 1813.& died in Westville ,Franklin Co.in 1871.She Married John Duffy in Ireland .She,John & infant daughter Catherine arrived United States 1839. I have them on the Franklin Co. census 1840 in Malone .I see there was a Carroll family in Malone at that time.Information on that family: Mary Carroll married John Mehan in Malone on 10 Jan 1837. One of their sons ,Hugh Carroll Mehan was born 21 Apr.1843 in Malone. A daughter, Catherine Mehan was born 22 Nov. 1837. Anna Carroll married Neill McCaffrey & their son Neil John was born 29 Sept. 1836,Malone,but they were in Westville by 1855. It seems probable that Ellen & John settled in Franklin Co.because she had family there. Were Mary & Anna her sisters? If you have Ellen in your line , I'd would like to connect & share family histories. Joanne Mack
