Hi Cookie, In my Repertoire of Baptisms, 1826-1846, from "Missions Des Cantons De L'Est" I have the following: Denis McCarty baptised 16/08/1831 at the age of 4 months. Son of Catharine Murray and Thomas McCarty, farmer of Granby. Godfather: Daniel Donovan Godmother: Mary Donevan There are several other McCarty /McCarthy baptisms but not from the same parents and none by the name of Denis. Hope this is of help to you. Sharon Mitchell Halifax. NS
Hi Hollis, Do you think the Tebo name you are looking for could have been spelled "Thibault"? I have the Marriage Repertoire for Ste-Martine, Chateauguay County and their are a lot of Thibaults there but no Tebos. Also there a number of Gervais which could be Jarvis?? Anyway, if you think they could be there let me know first names and time frames and I'll have a look for you. Good luck. Sharon Mitchell Halifax, NS

Stephen and Sylvia MEIGS COOK's chldren, as listed in Davis's HISTORY OF WALLINGFORD Conn. (published ca 1870): are these: Chauncey, b 9 MAR 1778, res. in Ottawa, Ill. Solomon, b 1 APR 1780, res. in Grand Rapids Betsey, b 10 SEP 1782, d 2 AUG 1800 Rebecca, b 2 AUG 1785, d 7 AUG 1825 Sylvia, b 3 FEB 1788, m. J. MORTON of Erie, PA Sally, b 5 JUN 1790, m S.M. MOON of ___, NY Patty, b 5 FEB 1793, res. near Rochester, NY, a widow Stephen, b 16 MAR 1796, res. at Oberlin, Ohio Anna * b 1 FEB 1799, res at Plattsburgh, NY [m Charles BLAKE. They had three children, all of whom died without issue] Betsey, b 13 JUL 1802, m C.D.Graves, Rochester, NY Lyman b 20 MAR 1804, res at Rochester, NY Nelson b 24 SEP 1806, res at Half Day, Ill. I have learned all I need to know about Anna, and am beginning to try to locate descendants of some of Anna's siblings. I am ultimately interested in finding a descendant (or anyone else) who has traced the family back before Sylvia, who has found Sylvia's mother Jerusha's maiden name. There is much information about the MEIGS family (which I have already checked) but this is still a mystery. Perhaps there is a family Bible, or a letter or other document somewhere which will solve it. The COOK family was apparently all together in Franklin County, NY until after Stephen Sr.'s death in 1829, when some family members began to move to the westward. If anybody can help, I'll appreciate it. Thanks - Edie in Maine
Seeking Adams and Hyde from Ft. Covington and Westville .
Looking for -- BAKER, ALFORD/ALVORD, SQUIRE(S), ELLIOT in Malone, Constable, Westville area. All 1790 - 1860. I have census records, etc, so I know they were there, but where did they come from? What happened to them? Example, census 1840, Westville, NY -- "widow Squires, age between 50-60", that's it, no given name, nothing, and I still don't know who she was, when she was born or died, and she is my gggg-grandmother. France>Quebec>Franklin Co. NY CLARENCE HUGHTO > parents ANDREW HUGHTO/NELLIE (possibly Helen) OWENS or FLEMING. FRANCOIS X. HURTEAU/JULIA KING. Have most of Hurteau/Hughto info, but nothing on OWENS or KING. Anybody have any suggestions? Also, I have had no luck find birth cert for my grandfather CLARENCE HUGHTO and marriage record for his parents ANDREW HUGHTO/NELLIE OWENS (?). I requested them from Albany, waiting for months and they searched the HUGHTO spelling for three years on each. Nothing found. The family lived in Altamont Twp., Franklin Co. during the 1900 census. Clarence was an infant b. Dec 14, 1899 living with parents Andrew and Nellie. I know the families originated in Canada, but thought they married and Clarence was born in NYS. Please help, what do I do NOW? Many thanks Sarah
