They are all from the time period of 1870's to 1890's and are printed on heavy cardstock. 3. I unfortunately do not know anything about photographers who worked in Franklin County. However I did do a study on my graduate thesis on the photographers who worked in Sumter County, South Carolina. My suggestions to you is to search the atchived newspapers. That was the chief means of getting the word out. If you are attempting to get a generalized date from a photograph type, let me know I might be able to help. I hipe I was able to help in a little bit, Sincerely, Renee Stowe Thurmond (rthurmond@sc.rr.com ) ----- Original Message ----- From: Carmon D. 3. Hi Jim, Thanks for responding to my post. I guess I'd have to categorize my use of the Packet Index under "Lack Of Success." Sorry. Out of several hundred CNY ancestors, in at least four primary lines, only two names (same surname) can be found. One is a complete unknown, and the other can not be distinguished from the 19 ancestors in my database who have the same name. This would be no problem if I lived within a few hours driving distance from a research facility that had access to the TT subscription. However, as indicated by my original signature line, I live about 6,500 miles from hands-on research (at least in regards to CNY.) Otherwise, the index seems like a good place to dig for more ancestral info. Regards, Scott P.
