Hello All, Kelly sent the file of St Patrick's records today. I posted them on my website http://n.1asphost.com/famgen/index.htm link is on the righthand side towards bottom of page. This is a new website that we just started a couple of days ago, so there is no other info at the moment. Just wanted to get this info out to all who wanted it. It is in the same format as was sent to me, until I have time to actually play around with it and make more user friendly for searching Thank you Kelly for your hard work, Leanne
Wouldn't these be qualified for the USGENWEB? However I did see that Kelly said that she transcribed parish records and that the burials are on line.. Can you tell me where? I also have ancestors who were in this area. thanks Lfelixthekat
Hi, I have transcribed the St Patrick, Chateaugay, NY parish records from 1863-1915. The burials are online. I am willing to let anyone put the whole file online ( marriages and baptisms). I have tried to submit it to the Franklin Co website numerous times without any luck. I have alone copied St Joseph and Notre Dame, Malone, NY up to 1915. These are not transcribed but if someone is willing to do so I can send them a CD with all the images on it. Hi Peggy, Thank your for the information. Another researcher also found records at St. Patrick when he thought they would be in Malone. This is a great help. I will check to see if the cemetery is on line. I will keep this on file to refer to. Thank you. Hi Peggy, Could you provide the links to Gleanings? I don't think I was on the correct WEB page as it was for Kentucky. Thank you, Diane
French Canadian and American marriages were very common in that area. There is an index of newspaper items related to deaths, etc. on the web. It is called Gleanings. The newspaper was printed in Canada, but was in English because there was so much going back and forth in the area south of Montreal into that northern part of NY state, especially Franklin Co., NY. I have the family of David Roland Humiston (his wife was French Canadian) that I have been researching and they are from that area. I have found some records for the family at St. Patricks RC Ch. in Chateaugay, Franklin Co. NY. I believe the cem. might be on the web. Other records for this family were found at the Canadian web site for the area south of Montreal. Hope this helps you to understand the migratory pattern for both Americans and Canadians in that area at that time period. Peggy At 08:25 AM 12/6/04 -0500, Richard C. Terry, St Joseph's started out mainly Irish. Notre Dame was built later for the French Canadians. You will find French Canadians in all three, however. Saint John Bosco certainly has a lot of them. I think now they are administered from Saint Joseph's. That is where the secretary works. She has the records there. Yes, they are all Catholic. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terry" <annterry@charter.net> To: <NYFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2004 8:32 PM Subject: [NYFRANKL] CATHOLIC CHURCHES IN MALONE > Hello, > > I found 3 churches which I think are Catholic in Malone, NY, St. Joseph, > St. John Bosco, and Notre Dame.
