I do know that she died in November of 1966, only because I was born in January of 1966. My parents often mention that that was a sweet and bitter year for them. It was the year I was born, yet, My paternal grandfather, Nelson Robert, Eloise Batraw Jock, and My maternal grandmother's sister, Robena Ranger LePage all died within 4 weeks of each other, in November of 1966.So, Eloise Batraw Jock died in November of 1966. She must have been born sometime between 1915 and 1916 this is how I know...I actually have a picture of her on our dining room buffett/sideboard. She is about 3 or 4 years old and is a winner of a beauty contest at the Franklin County Fair. She is wearing a ribbon which says either 1918 or 1919, I have never been able to read it. I would gladly make a copy of this picture for you if you send me your address. you can contact me at (518)372-8322, (Mark Roberts)1611 Grand Blvd. Schenectady, NY 12309! . I and my mother would greatly appreciate copies of any pictures you might have of my grandfather, "Mose" and my great Aunt Bertha. thanks. The Batraw name was anglized from Bertrand. My grandfather Moses changed his last name to Batraw sometime after he married his second wife Mabel, my grandmother. Eloise was my mother's half sister, but I remember her and Uncle Andy. If you want to e-mail me I will be happy to give you what I have on the Batraw's. Moses Batraw was my mother's father. His First wife was Bertha Garvais, married around 1916. They were the parents of Eloise Batraw. Bertha Gervais died around 1919, a victim of the Spanish Influenza Epidemic. My grandfather later married Mabel Ranger. They had two children from that marriage, Irene, my aunt, born @ 1922 and Theresa, my mother born in 1929. Eloise married Andrew Jock. I can remember my mother refering to him as "uncle Andy" even though he was not really her uncle but the husband of her half-sister. Hope that opens som doors for you. After much effort, I am still unable to trace either of them further back into Canada. I believe they may have married in Clinton County, NY around 1841.
