The two older boys, Edward and Granville's mother was born in Canada and the younger boy, Quentin's mother was born in NY. I think Edward was married to Katherine and had Edward and Granville. Katherine may have died and Edward Russell then married Barbara and had Quentin. This is what it looks like. Check it out. There is a family story that was news to me, that someone in the family was in some sort of legal capacity to issue a death sentence;, either as a judge or in the military or as the executioner. The story goes that the death penalty was carried out in Canada between 1844-1865 or so. I've researched the family and I think if there was anyone who might have been in a capacity to impose or carry out a death sentence, it would have taken place not in Canada but in Franklin County, NY between 1865-1930. I believe this to be more likely because there were policemen and councilmen in the family at that time, but in the years prior in Canada, my family was full of poor farmers and servants.
