So far all of my family, from ALL sides came from Canada by way of Franklin and St Lawrence Counties and then just skipped straight to Onondaga County. With one exception, who came through Bangor, Maine and then skipped straight to Onondaga County and just plunked down and stayed here. You'd think it would be easy following such a direct path. It was. Now following them up through Canada is proving to be a challenge. Anyway. The only Samuel FRENCH's listed in the Central NY book in this: 3267. FRENCH, Charlotte, 39, wf of Col. Samuel, d 2/12/38 in Sullivan (3-2/14) appears in the Chittenango Herald on Feb 14, 1838. 3275. FRENCH, Samuel, 16 s of late Thomas, d 6/15/39 in Canaseraga (3- 6/19) again, the Chittenango Herald on June 15, 1839. And one listing in Western NY: 3259. FRENCH, _____, inf dau of Samuel, d 8/5/27 in Bath (3-8/15) appears in the Geneva Gazette on August 15, 1815 That's all that I can find.
