A MASONIC RELIC. At the meeting last evening of Friendship Lodge, No.153 F. and A. M., a relic of early Masonic days and troubles was received and added to the lodge's collection of curios. It was a brick from the cell in the old jail at Canandaigua in which William MORGAN, famous in the anti-Masonic troubles of 70 years ago was confined at one time. The jail was torn down some time ago and the bricks were much sought for as Masonic relics and one came into the possession of W. D. The gentlemen of the Congregational church served a supper at the church parlors Friday which drew a large patronage. The receipts were $20.50. PRESBYTERIAN The Presbyterian Y. P. S. C. E. served supper at the chapel Friday evening. The attendance was large and it netted about $12. DRIVE AND RIDE TO THE RIGHT. The village trustees at their meeting Monday issued orders to the police to see that all who ride and drive on the village streets keep to the right side of the street to lessen the chance of accidental collisions. If enforced this order will soon be the means of two paths on each street and less danger to riders and pedestrians. Dr. SPENCER of that institution telephoned The RECORD this afternoon that Mr. DANA is able to sit up every day and is doing well. It is expected that he can come home in a few days. THE SHERIFFS MISTAKE. Justice George F. LYON'S Amusing Experience in Norwich. Justice George F. LYON is in Norwich presiding at a trial and special term of the supreme court, which opened there Monday morning. An amusing experience incidental to Judge LYON'S arrival at court Monday is described in the Norwich Sun this morning as follows: Since Zenas TARBLE has served on the county as sheriff, this is the first time that Judge George F. Lyon has held court here. The sheriff and one or two other men were in the judges private office Monday morning, when Judge LYON and his stenographer entered the room and proceeded to make themselves at home. Sheriff TARBLE said, good naturedly, "Gentlemen, this room is reserved for the judge. Yonder across the hall, is the attorney's room." "Sheriff, allow me to introduce to you Judge LYON." said the stenographer, whereupon certain men vacated the room, but not those who had been invited by the sheriff to do so.
