I know a number of mid-western states (Nebraska being one that I am familiar with) where License Plate directories are distributed by insurance companies. I would guess that the historical society has copies going way back of these. With the low population of the counties, and the plates being issued by county, most people know who a plate belongs to. Can't get away with shady deals out there! I don't believe most of the Eastern states ever did anything like the directories, due to the higher populations. ===== Mark W. Swarthout, Esq.
