    2. Gordon, I don't know if you have any documentation or any more specifics on Daniel and Elisabeth's marriage but they were actually married on February 28, 1822. The announcement appears in the Geneva Gazette on March 13, 1822. They were married by Rev. H. Axtell in Seneca. Hope this helps. Rikki On 5 Jan 2003 at 23:26, Gordon J. 1. Re: [NYFL] Isaac Brown, b. Stillwater, Saratoga (then Albany )County, NY
    2. I don't know if this Isaac Brown is who you are looking for or not but it's not beyond the realm of possibility so I am forwarding you the information I found in my book, 10,000 Vital Records of Eastern NY 1777-1834. pg 34 listing number 1167. ~~~snip~~~ Brown, Isaac, merchant, of Albany m 5/27/30 Isabella Brown, 2nd dau of late Henry, Esq. of Knox, in K; Rev. Williams (2-5/29) ~~~snip~~~ The numbers in parenthesis indicate the publication and the date the announcement appeared. In this case the announcement appeared in the Ballston Spa Gazette on May 29, 1930. This Isaac is in the right county even if he were a little old to be getting married. But he could have waited that long or he could have married a second time. There is no other listing for this family. 1. [NYFL] checking for vitals? help
    2. Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone could check N.Y. Library for vitals for me? I have a Thomas Golden born abt 1845 in Ireland married to Ann Dowd born abt 1845 in Ireland, she came to N.Y. in 1865, not sure when he came. Their daughter Mary Theresa Golden was born in 1872. I need a marriage record for Thomas and Ann, some where between 1870 and 1875. In the census in 1875 she was listed as married, in 1880 she is listed as widow, but she was not living with him , so I think he was in the civil war and died before he came home? no information on his death date either. She was living in Ontario county at the time. Thank you, Cathy Obeshaw

    3. I know a number of mid-western states (Nebraska being one that I am familiar with) where License Plate directories are distributed by insurance companies. I would guess that the historical society has copies going way back of these. With the low population of the counties, and the plates being issued by county, most people know who a plate belongs to. Can't get away with shady deals out there! I don't believe most of the Eastern states ever did anything like the directories, due to the higher populations. ===== Mark W. Swarthout, Esq. 3. I am willing to take digital pictures of headstones. I'm kind of at a stall with my genealogy work and figure it's time to help others the way I've been helped. I live in Seneca Falls and will go in a 40 mile radius. Even though I don't have a lot of genealogy around here I still have a hard time passing cemeteries. lol May as help others and fulfill the urge to drive in. Faith

    2. GREAT IDEA!!! SEE this is why I LOVE this list!!! This won't be necessary with the school project that I'm working on, as I've had LOADS of great offers to help on that one, but it will be GREAT for my own personal pics, as I'm sure some of those vehicles were registered to family members!! 3. I approached this issue by asking the Montana list, because I had a photo of old cars with exposed license from that state. There was also a man with a young girl, who I thought might be relation. Solution was the Montana Historical Society, who responded within two days of my request with the car's registered owners of 1910. Don't know those owners or the people in the picture, but I did get an answer. You could try the state historical society to see if they have similar registration records. Good luck. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com

I've tried several different searches on Google & Jeeves, but if one exists, I must not have come up with the right phrasing yet!! ANY thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!! I have tons of pics that I could much closer date this way, but right now I'm working on a local history exhibit for my daughter's school, and have 5 or 6 that I would REALLY like to pin down an era for!! According to Symantec and a number of emails I've received in response, Jdbgmgr.exe is a legitimate though seldom used windows file. If you deleted this file, don't worry. It's only important to programmers who use microsoft visual J++ 1.1 to develop Java programs. it's absence will not cause your PC to stop working or intervere with your applications. programs using Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1 Hope this helps, I apologize for any inconvinience, John

    1. [NYFL] VIRUS HOAX
    2. This is DEFINITELY A HOAX!!! This is designed to get people to delete a REGULAR WINDOWS FILE that can mess up certain systems!!! If you have already deleted the file, you can go to: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322993 to see if your system is one that requires the file, and if so, it will tell you how to restore the file. ALWAYS CHECK your antivirus software's hoax section if your antivirus didn't detect a virus, before you follow any instructions to delete files, or pass along a warning!! GOOD LUCK!! Joan

My address book may be in turn infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you may find it in your computer too. The virus called jdbgmgr.exe is not detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent e-mails to your contacts. Here is how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it. YOU MUST DO THIS: 1.Go to Start, Find or Search option 2. In the filefolders option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C:drive and all subfolders and any other drives you may have 4. Click "find now" 5. The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT 6. Go to Edit (on menu bar), choose "select all" to highlight the file without opening it 7. Now go to File (on menu bar) and select Delete. It will go into the recylce bin IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK SO THAT THEY CAN ERADICATE IT. To do this: 1. Open a new email message 2. Click the icon of the address book next to the @"TO" 3. Highlight every name and add to the "BCC" 4. Copy this message...enter subject...paste to email...send
