    1. [NYFL] Re: Karen Stark (EGGLESTONS/ECCLESTON/EAGLETONE/EGLESTON)
    2. Karen, 2895. Eggleston, N.A. m 9/10/50 Jane Ann Church, dau of William; Esq. of Coventry, NY Rev. A Eggleston of Windsor (9-9/14) appears in the Utica Daily Gazette on Sept 14, 1850. 2897. Eggleston, Wilkerson, 42, d 5/9/34 in Chittenango (3-5/13) appears in the Chittenango Herald on May 13, 1834. 8940. Thompson, Tallmadge m Eliza Eggleston in Middlesex (3-6/24/18) (3-2/24) The place entry is 3 on both dates so that means it appeared in the Geneva Gazette. The date entries for Tallmadge and Eliza is not clear as they both appear in the lookup format. The above is how they appear in the book. So I would guess that the date of the marriage was 6/24/1818 and that the up coming marriage announcement appeared on Feb, 24 1818. So just to be sure you should check both dates in the paper to see what, if anything is said. For the 1298 entry please copy and paste all the information that goes with that number, name, numbers and whatever else is on that line. I want to be sure I am copying the correct information from the correct 1298 entry. Rikki On 22 Jan 2003 at 19:01, [email protected] wrote: > > Thanks so much. 1. [NYFL] VR Lookup
    2. Rodney Kenyon
    3. Am searching for any information about either Isaac Gillette, born in Albany Co. 1815, or his wife Elenor Winne, born in Otsego Co.1825. I believe her father to be Conrad Winne, born 1800 in Montgomery Co. Mother unknown. They were living in Wayne Co., MI in 1870 and supposedly all died there. Would be interested in finding birth or marriage records. Elenor and Isaac were listed with children, in 1850 census in Hector, Tompkins Co, NY. Would appreciate a lookup when you have time and are still willing ? Thanks

The first 3 books are 10,000 Vital Records, one covers Eastern NY from 1777-1834, one covers Central NY from 1813 to 1850 and the third covers Western NY from 1809 to 1850. Please be aware, these Vital Records were gleaned from Newspaper Announcements and organized into these books. They are NOT the end all. They will cover ONLY those vital records that made it into the newspapers and even then, I'm sure some were missed. Also be aware that just because one of your ancestors lived in Albany County, or Onondaga County that might not be the only place a notice was put in the paper. I have found many ancestor's when the researcher told me that they only lived in Albany county so I should look only there. That may be true. They may have only lived in Albany county, but they may have some family or friends that moved to a different county and in order to announce their marriage or a death they placed announcements in other counties. The fourth book I have is Jefferson County in the World War. I understand that this has nothing to do with the Finger Lakes but I wanted to make you all aware that I have it if you should like a look up from it. PLEASE follow these directions for asking for a lookup or your request will not be honored. If the list admin doesn't mind you asking on list then that is fine with me also. I prefer it that way myself because I could possibly answer more than one persons question with one answer. If the list admin does not approve then address your requests to me [email protected] znet.com and in the subject line and PLEASE PUT "VR Lookup" or "WW Lookup", depending on which lookup you are requesting. I have this information from the lady in charge of Green Hills Cemetery in Dryden, NY; "The original mortality list was typed by my predecessor, using the hand written Mortality Records. Her work was the basis for my records which have been updated and corrected over the past ten years as we have surveyed the cemetery and re-checked old records. She had included in her typewritten pages a Cora Givens, date of death 11/3/58, in lot 51, section 2. However, we can find no monument for this Cora Givens, nor can we find her listed in the hand-written Mortality Records. Clearly, the information came from some source, although we do not know from where. We have included her name in the above list and in our official records and will continue to research this". I have checked with the funeral director in Dryden, NY and he has nothing listed for Cora Givens. Lot 51, section 2 is a family plot........Bert & Anna Givens....and their children.....(Bert is my great grand uncle).....I cannot figure out who Cora is........perhaps there might be an obituary in your books....... 1. [NYFL] Johnson Family
    2. NYFL Listers and Ted Gibson of Farmington Hills, MI: I have an unknown JOHNSON who married a woman named Marion b. about 1819. They had only one child that I know of: Jeremiah "Jerry" JOHNSON b.1870 Little Falls, Herkimer Co., NY and d. 30 Jun 1943 Brighton, Monroe County, NY and he was a farmer also. His wife was Minerva BONNELL born to William James and Frances (nee RICHARDSON). They had eight children. Rochester Suburban Directory of Brighton, etc. 1930: Jeremiah and Minerva A. Johnson were living on Elmwood Avenue, Brighton, Monroe County, NY. With them was a "helper" named WILLIAM JOHNSON. This William is not a name of any of their children that I know of. Possible that the person providing info or recording the directory assumed he was a JOHNSON? Anyone know this line of JOHNSON folks or their 8 children growing up around Ridge Road in Rochester, NY? Can someone look up this 1930 family of the census? Thank you, Dawn Munnings
