I was trying to obtain some history about the village or hamlet of Bloomingdale, New York and I received a mail note from an individual that has a book titled "The New York of Yesterday Bloomingdale" The author appeared to be something like Hopper Striker Mott (the name was very difficult to make out. This is my best guess) Here is some information on the book. It is 597 pages. It has fold out maps, Illustrations of buildings, portraits of citizens with facsimile signatures, and lots more. There does not appear to be any sort of business listings. A picture of a map, which again, was very difficult to make out, shows the Hudson River on one side of a land mass and the East River on the other side indicating that this "Bloomingdale" may have been located somewhere around Manhattan - New York City? The book was published by Putnams 1908 and is limited to 500 copies. (stated) It starts with appx 1805 at the Church of Harensville. Ch 1 discusses Bloomingdale. Ch 2 Bloomingdale Militant Ch 3 Harensville Ch 4 The First Consistory Ch 5 The Church in Harensville 1805-1855 Ch 6 The Church in Harensville 1855-1906 Ch 7 Among Old-Time Families Ch 8 Reminiscences Ch 9 Vital Statistice Marriages- w\index, Baptisims w\index. Has anybody heard of this book? It might help someone else in their search for Bloomingdale History. Thanks. Regards, Cornelius McKenna
