Named for son of Freeman Dewitt Lindsay who was Sheriff, Mayor andin Wisc. Legislature. He was a 2nd Lieut. in Civil War and son of Robert Lindsay B1804 who was son of Daniel Lindsay and Martha McDowell. On Ann/Nancy I have they lived for a time at Fort Miller, later moving to Coburg, Upper Canada and from there to Canada Corners, now Campton, Illinois. They were on the 1850 census of Kane County, Ill. living with a son Duncan. Have no specific dates.
