He had a large family and left a large estate in 1787. Of his children, I have descent from Samuel Curtis Steele who lived Rindge, Cheshire, NH and then died there in 1811. Of his children, I have descent from William who removed to NY, lived at Jay, Essex Co and at Plattsburgh, Clinton Co; he died there supposedly 1825. I would like to find someone who is familiar with either this family of Steele or familiar with the areas of New York mentioned. Sons include: Almon/Almond and Roswell, Samuel Hamblin Steele, these eventually removed to OH and then IL. Daughters include: Cynthia and Susan. Cynthia married Lyman Peck. I have facts to share.
