    1. re: BLAISE
    2. Gene Warner
    3. I am also descended from the BLAISE surname although I haven't done a lot of research on it yet. I have been busy working on my WARNER line. My Grandmother was Eliza May BLAISE. My great Grandfather was Andrew BLAISE. I think we are related. I have found some BLAISE data in in the census and I have a bit of family info also, but not much. What you are going to run into at some point, is that the name will change not only spellings as it changes from french to english, but the ealier french surnames also have a strange thing that occurs wherein they take on names called "dit" names, that appear to be of no relation to the name you are looking for. I know this sounds confusing and it is, but there are people who are successful in tracing their famlies through various name changes. I expect at some point that the BLAISE name will jump into canadian genealogies. The native american surnames are even more difficult to trace from what I have read. There are several sites that specialize in French-New York and French-Vermont connections. A good starting place to find some of the names associated with the changing BLAISE surname is the following site. http://www.imagepartners.co.uk/Thesaurus/Search.aspx I have photos of Eliza, Andrew and possibly Guy BLAISE. Would love to share what little I have and recieve anythiung you might have. a native Vermonter lost in Texas Gene Warner
