Have a Virginie Gamelin b. 14 June 1859, Keeseville, NY m. 10 Sept. 1877 Lacolle, PQ to: Alfred Garceau d. 19 Dec 1943 St. Albans, VT Throughout vital records Virginie is listed as Marie-Jane, Jane, Virginie, Gamelin, Gumlaw, Gimlaw. Parents have been listed as Joseph Gamelin, George Gamelin of Port Kent, NY and Jane Trombley Plattsburgh, NY, Adelia Senecal and unknown????????????? Have Joseph Gamelin and Amelie Brouillette married in Keesville, NY 24 July 1859. According to Virginie b. date is a month before wedding??? 2nd marriage for Joseph possibly?? Oral family history believed Virginie to be of Native American descent. But, I know how the Gamelin family in previous generations were married to Native Americans and possibly just been passed on. Found in 1860 Clinton County Census Joseph Gamma 25 Orvilla 23 Virginia 1 Edward 3/12 I do not seem to be able to find them in any other U.S. Census.
