An old family graveyard in the Town of Goshen NY has been desecrated by new owners. Three members of Orange County Genealogical Society went to the town board meeting on Dec 13th. The owners' attorney insists they did nothing illegal. The town attorney requested help from anyone who can provide him with contacts with other town boards/town attorneys in NY state where a law protecting private cemeteries is currently in effect. That is, he wants one or more legal precedents to use in formulation of a similar law in the Town of Goshen. Can you help? If so, please send name, address, phone number, e-mail, whatever you've got of contact people who can provide copies of >>>EXISTING<<< local ordinances that protect private cemeteries to me. I'll make sure they get to the right people. So that I don't get a flood of off-subject messages, please reply only if you can help the Goshen town attorney obtain COPIES of existing ordinances. Anything less than copies that can be cited as legal precedents will not help. Thanks and happy new year to all! Marty Irons Goshen NY --part1_31.205e4f3b.29652fec_boundary--
