    2. Hi Brauck and list, Thanks so much for your reply. I think you're on to something there and what I thought was a Y could be a G. I have seen a capital G written as we write a small g only larger, but didn't even think of that. I should have. This is definitely open on the top and has a tail below the other letters, but most of the handwriting in the bible is the same handwriting as if it was copied from another bible or record. So the person who wrote it could have mistaken a G written as we write a small g only larger, as a Y. I will certainly follow-up on this angle and try to check records for Genesee. If Wm. and Sophia McKenzie were married in Genesee they soon came back to Essex Co. to have a son Roderick in 1813 and a son William in 1816. Wm. did like to move around though as they were in IN by 1820 and OH by 1830, where they stayed. Thanks again for your interesting input. I appreciate it very much. Carol Harrison
