Some of my ancestors are buried in Evergreen Cemetery. Clicking on cemeteries on the Essex County pg. Evergreen is listed in Chesterfield. I called the town clerk of Chesterfield and she said it was a nonworking cemetery that had no office. I was planning on going to the cemetery in the spring. Does anybody have a street address for the cemetery so I could print out a mapquest map of how I can get from Syracuse, N.Y. directly there? I know a relative of mine has been there and our ancestors were too poor to afford headstones. I need to contact somebody who has the cemetery records to find out where my relatives are so I don't wander around aimlessly looking for their graves. Also I found another member of the family recently and wonder if he too is buried with his family in that cemetery. The only way I would know that is if I could have somebody look at the cemetery records for my family's burials there. I know I have seen similar queries and usually everybody is directed to write to the Adirondack Historical Society as they I believe have most if not all the cemetery records.
