I believe I have found some information for you on your Peter FREDETTE. First I found where Peter and his wife Rose had applied for a Civil War Pension for their son Frederick who evidently died. This is good because if you send for the files you should get statements for both of them and it should fill in some of your blanks ... be sure you order the files under both application numbers...I couldn't make out which Company he was attached to??? ============================================================== Fredette, Frederick Mother: Rose Fredette Father : Peter Fredette ?? NY Infantry Mothers application # : 319.123 filed Sept.1,1884 Father's application # : 459.081 ========================================================= Secondly I found two posts by two different researchers that might have the information you need...or at least parts of it. I'm pasting those in here and I've included their email addresses... I don't have any further information as these are not my family... ========================================================= 1. fredette Author: Richard Fredette [email protected] Date: 25 Nov 2000 12:00 PM GMT Surnames: fredette In Reply to: Julius Provost by: Russell Marin Essex Co. I have an extensive Fredette file but don't have any married to a Provost. I do have some PETER Fredette's, were there any other children listed with Allie on the census? Maybe that would help me to find the right Peter for you. ======================================= Julius Provost Author: Russell Marin [email protected] Date: 19 Nov 2000 12:00 PM GMT Surnames: Provost, Fredette I am looking for information on JULIUS PROVOST, his first wife died in abt 1872/3 leaving him with six children, he then married ALLIE FREDETTE a young girl about 16 yrs old, Allie is listed in the 1870 Census living with her father PETER FREDETTE in Essex NY. and in the 1880 Census is listed as the wife of Julius Provost living in Essex NY.
