    2. I was delighted to read on this last that the village of Essex will celebrate its bicentennial in 2005. Does anyone have any information on specific dates and activities of this event? Also, I'd appreciate locating the Essex home (if it still stands) of my great grandfather, MOSES ADAM KNOWLTON, who lived in Essex after the Civil War until the late 1890s when he "removed" to Vergennes VT. He is buried north of Essex in Lakeview Cemetery with his wife, HARRIET HOFFNAGLE KNOWLTON.
