    1. [NYE] Re: Canada to New York Indian descent?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Martin/Soper (Suprenant), Martin/Basiliere Classification: Queries Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YRB.2ACE/241.250.251.1.1.1 Message Board Post: My paternal great grandparents were Nelson Martin and Adeline Suprenant (Soper). My paternal grandparents are Frederick Nelson Martin and Beatrice Mary Basiliere. My father was Nelson Alfred Martin. My paternal grandparents marriage certificate dated 9-Jan-1928 has my grandfather's parents listed as Nelson Martin and Adeline Soper. My paternal grandfather and both of his parents were born in Keeseville, NY. My great grandparents Nelson and Adeline are buried together in Burlington, VT and my grandfather is buried somewhere in Texas. My grandmother Beatrice Basiliere was born in Burlington, VT and is still alive in California. My great grandmother Adeline Soper was born @1871 in Keeseville, NY. I have the baptism record from Keeseville dated 5-Jun-1871. Her parents were Francois Xavier (Olliver, Oliver) Surprenant (Suprenant, Soper) and Esther Labounty, both born in Canada. According to my records, my great grandmother had a sister Mary born @1865 in Keeseville, NY. And for whatever reason there are two Adelines born to this family - one in 1862 and my great grandmother in 1871. Maybe the earlier Adeline died young and they reused the name. It's eerie but I've seen it done a lot. Is it a match?
