There are many other families in the papers, but if we let other people know, the site will get o busy. Click on the link below: The site is a free site. http://news.nnyln.net/ Choose the Ticonderoga Sentinel Search for "O'Hara", use the quotation marks. There are over 300 articles, most of them on Robert O'Hara. Search for "Charles Newell", use the quotation marks. There are 500+ articles on the family. Search for " Pomeroy Allen", use the quotation marks. There are over 70 articles on the family. Search for "Fannie Spauding", use the quotation marks, There are 39 articles on her. This is a great gossip newspaper, every time your family had a picnic, took a trip, or visited someone the information is included in the paper. It includes: 8/23/1928 - Marriage of Miss Ethel Newell dau of Mr and Mrs Charles Newell to Robert O'Hara son of Mr and Mrs Lynn O'Hara 3/22/1934 Obit for Pomeroy Allen, 79, listing his wife Ida Spaulding Allen and a bunch of kids including Mrs Charles Newell of Crown Point 1916 Article saying the Mrs Pomeroy Allen was visiting her mother Fanny Spaulding 1913 Article says that Fannie Spaulding visited her brother Levi Bigalow This is a genealogical gold mine for your family. We only looked at few articles. This should provide you with information back to 1850 or so. The only thing that disappointed us is that we could not find Lynn O'Hara prior to the 1920 census. Lynn appears to have been a nickname. The real name may be in an article that we did not read. Good luck.
Addison Co. Vermont may be a good place to search for BLANCHARD. I am reaching back through a lot of dusty years of memories, but it seems that my father picked apples for a man with an orchard by the name of BLANCHARD. Just a possible area to search. a native Vermonter lost in Texas

I appreciate the leads a great deal. I'm going to research each Wilson in Crown Point and see if any of them connect in someway to Philander Wilson. Philander Wilson Sr., seemed to migrate a bit, but the counties that stand out are: Williams, Summit, and Licking. Some of his grandchildren migrated to Noble County, Indiana where eventually my grandmother "Dessie Lucinda Wilson" was born in 1882 and this whole story begins, so to speak. Thanks again Jeff for the guidance. Cindi
My Smart/Smith connection is Jeannette Smith who is the daughter of Israel and Ruth Smith and who was born in Essex County about 1836 (one other sibling was born in Essex County in 1835 and her other 5 siblings were all born in VT, but to date I do not know where). Jeanette Smith married Charles Francis(Frank/Franklin) Smart, who was born between 1828 and 1832. One census says he was born in NY, but another says VT. That is all I have on Charles Smart. In 1860, Jeanette and Charles were in Black Brook, Clinton County and in 1870 they are in Chesterfield, Essex County. If you are familiar with the area, Black Brook and Chesterfield although in different counties are geographically very close to each other. Do you have any knowledge of the children of Jeremiah and Eunice? Ida in CT but from northern NY

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YRB.2ACE/1204.2.1 Message Board Post: I'm not sure of any connection to our families but here is what I pulled from my files from the 1810 Essex Co, NY census with the page number listed. 1810 NY Census for Essex Co. lists the following Wilson's: Cyrus from Lewis, p029; Warren and Elias from Jay, p019 (likely the brothers of Cyrus!) Daniel from Keene p025; James from Keene, p025; Josiah from Keene, p024; David from Crown Point, p048; Jonathon from Crown Point p050; Jonathon from Crown Point, p051; Nathan from Crown Point, 053; Rebecca probably from Crown Point, p052; Moses from Willsborough,p040; William from Ticonderoga, p065 and Bradley from Essex, 039. If your sources are correct and your 3G-grandfather was born in Crown Point than his likely father may have been named David, Jonathon or Nathan. Haven't looked up the age ranges of these people but I believe one of the Jonathon's was likely the father of the other Jonathon. There's also a Rebecca Wilson from Crown Point to consider as well. Unless there is a tie-in a generation or two further back I don't see any connection between our families. Where did your ancestors move to in Ohio? Mine moved to Shelby and Montgomery County area, on the Great Miami River. Jeff

Wilson" I was reading your posts concerning your Wilson line from Essex County with great interest. According to family history, Philander was born in Crown Point, Essex Co. New York on June 1, 1810. He married a "Charlotte Eliza Hopkins" in 1835, and then moved to Ohio, where seven of their eight children were born, including my second great grandfather "Philander E. Wilson" born 22 July 1838. Eventually our Wilsons moved to Noble County, Indiana where my great grandfather "John Hopkins Wilson" as well as his daughter and my grandmother "Dessie LuCinda Wilson" lived and died. Could there be any connection between our families? Please feel free to contact me at CBL2000@aol.com. I'd enjoy hearing from you. Thanks so much! Cindi - Southern California
