Last part of the reply...Another message offered Here is Sacred Heart Church Rectory's number (518)597-3924 I believe this was/is the only Catholic Church in Crown Point, That church has the main records from the establishment of the first settlement in the area. Records of marriages, births and deaths (though not all were reported) for whole colonial period, for the whole surrounding countryside. They are usually swamped with requests - an answer may take time. I also believe I heard a rumor the records are off being microfilmed.
Here is the picture I mentioned.

Try this again - lost it once. I think I can give a little possible info on your question. No, there were no actual "indian posts" in the Ti area at the time of your grandfathers birth. There was, however, an inn/restaurant in Crown Point often called the indian post, or the trading post. It was located right next to the ruins of Fort St. Frederick and Fort Amherst, just on the NY side of the bridge. There is a tar strip there now, used as a truckers pull off. The area surrounding it is often called the reservation. It was allegedly a stagecoach stop & remained in various reincarnations until it was demolished in the early 1970s. I have a post card photo somewhere (copied from ebay). Send me your address and I will try to send the picture.

Just came across this rather old post and wanted to add some info. Although I have no record of Rose Gauthier I just yesterday received a copy of the marriage license for Lillian Williams and Emmanuel Gauthier. His mother was Dina Benoit Gauthier Dfo(a)rge. The marriage took place 13 February 1908 in Saranac Lake. No other info so far.

Researching my great-grandaunt from Minerva, Rosina BURCKHARDT (daughter of John George BURCKHARDT and Rosina MULLER) and her husband Thomas WILSON (son of Joseph WILSON and Jane MCKEE). Their daughters married James CORSCADDEN and William Henry STARBUCK. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Is anyone researching a Weston family in Essex County around 1800-1870? Tricia
I think maybe the name is Hammondville no "s". There is a Hammondville listed in the 1895 atlas of New York. It is listed in Essex County and the area indicated is Northeast. According to the map it appears to be west of Crown Point. There is a "Hammondsport" on the south tip of Keuka Lake, one of the finger lakes..
