Has anyone ever heard of this name, or know of anyone of this name? My grandmother's sister was named Martha Paul Pollard Kofeju (previously married to a POLLARD). KOFEJU was pronounced KAY-figh (if that makes sense--the last syllable rhymes with "high"). A whole bunch of them lived at 71 Lilac Street in Buffalo for a number of years, at least until the 1920 Census. I suspect the name has been transcribed wrong and that is why I can't find anything about them after that. I don't know when Martha Kofeju or her husband (Anthony Edmund "Eddie" Kofeju) died. Martha was born in 1882 in Kansas, and Eddie was born in 1884 in Austria. Their daughter, Jessie May POLLARD (born 1901), married Amos E. KRESGE. Amos Kresge was related to the family who started the old Kress Dime Stores, which eventually became K-Mart. I would appreciate any suggestions as to further Erie County resources I can search for information on this family. Is there a genealogical society that has a research service? Thank you........
