The Historical Society of the Tonawandas has a database (not online) that includes any Civil War vets associated with the Tonawandas area. I checked it out, but neither Batt nor Leverenz appear on the list - both names are common in the Tonawandas however. Ned Schimminger

I have a book called "Civil War Veterans of the Tonawandas" by Stuart R. Brown, published by the Historical Society of the Tonawandas in 1964. The veterans are all listed with short bios of some of them. There is no Batt or Leverenz in the list.
