    3. Thanks Cynthia. Usually if flowers are declined the family would ask that a donation be made to a charity. That's why flowers are declined in many instances. Also some of the flowers are taken to the church and the remainder are left on the grave. Its not the best picture seeing your flowers thrown on top of the grave. Large families often have enough flowers from relatives and do not need any more. Several reasons for declining flowers. Jim

I have buried both parents here in Michigan, and several aunts and uncles within a few years of each other, and the rule of the funeral homes and cemetaries here is that only 3 flower arrangements can go to the cemetary. The rest of the flowers you have to decide to have family members take from the funeral home, or allow them to give to organizations that use them at nursing homes, etc., or they just depose of them.
