Good morning everyone. I wrote in, last year, looking for information on a photographer named Gene Laverne. Thought I'd 'drop another line' just in case someone ran across something or someone new knows something. To recap. Gene Laverne was a very famous Glamour Photographer, who lived and worked in Buffalo for decades. He photographed many famous and not-so-famous entertainers. I found out, last year, that he had died in 1978. I am hoping that someone might know what happend to his photos/negatives. I am trying to obtain them for a lady who is collecting Burlesque memorabelia, for the Golden Days of Burlesque Historical Society. Info on the Society is at: http://www.burlesquehistory.com/ She plans to turn the collection over to a university for permanent preservation, in the future. I was able to get Gene's obituary and I spoke to the funeral director. So far, I have been unable to trace any heirs. As far as I know, Gene had no children. His sister's phone (the POC named in the funeral home bill) had been disconnected. I was told that his mother was buried at Concordia Cemetery, (as is some of my family) but they have no record of any burials, under any of the family names. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help. Jeanette
