New York Tribune October 4, 1918 Page 16 Two New Yorkers Die Of Disease At Camp Dix CAMP DIX, Wrightstown, N.J., Oct. 3.-- The sultry weather seems to have had a tendency to increase the number of influenza and pneumonia patients here. The report to-day shows the total of 59 deaths, including one officer and two New York City men. One hundred and seventy-two new cases of pneumonia and 176 new cases of influenza were reported. At the present time there are 4,287 cases of influenza in the entire camp, and 983 cases of pneumonia. The officer who died was Lieutenant D. H. Parliament, Covington, GA., and the New York City men were Privates John Dzeurack, 135 Avenue B, and Alfred Feldman, 9 Suffolk Street. Other New York State men were Private Harrison, Camp Grougham; Ray Elwell, Rochester; Joseph Eckert, Edward Reister, Edmund MALECKI, Buffalo; D. J. Stramm, Jamaica, L. I., and Meiano Darmico.
