Here's the rub I already have all as listed by USGS linked. It's those that are marked "Cem" or cross, even "grave" on the USGS maps - which can be seen at http://www.topozone.com/ The problem? http://members.tripod.com/~wnyroots/index-cheektowaga.html Not all listed cemeteries are listed in USGS and they dont' give exact location to link to the maps shown at topozone.com (USGS is linked to topozone) same with the other sites http://rootserie.tripod.com/index1-chkg-united-cem.html Robert Ziegler http://nedschim0.tripod.com/tonaroots/index.html Ned Schimminger http://members.tripod.com/~wnyroots/index-buffalo.html http://members.tripod.com/~wnyroots/index-index.html http://www.interment.net/data/us/ny/niagara/bearridge/bear.htm http://www.bfn.org/~roots/local.htm#Cemetery http://members.tripod.com/~wnyroots/index-amherst-willsa-cem.html Like Valentine said: the effort is not one person's, it is everybody's to help locate and identify those un-named cemeteries as marked on maps. You can go direct to: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form and type in town, county and state then click through to Topozone and look all over the area you are familiar with. If you find those marked "Cem", cross or "grave" and you know the name of that place, notify me so I can notify the USGS. It takes the USGS about a month to investigate and make corrections, or updates to the database. Eventually in future updates to the maps will show all named cemeteries. Yes, there are "unnamed" cemeteries within City of Buffalo! Like that one near Riverside Park.
