    3. Zona, I have heard that separation papers were often filed in the county of residence for vets. The vets themselves filed them with the county clerk. My mother has told me that my father filed papers with the Niagara County Clerk when he was discharged from the Army after his service in WWII. I haven't checked with the office to see if they still have them though.
