I was unaware of this project, or I surely do not remember seeing it before. I clicked on this URL The Making of America database is at http://cdl.library.cornell.edu/moa/ Then found Judy's response, with a different URL (see her message). So, I went to both URL's and found that when I searched on one surname, I got different results. If I understand correctly, you should search both sites, as they have different books/works scanned. I apologize if I am stating the obvious to those of you who were aware of this project.
